One thing to consider when getting a new dog is where will the dog spend its time when you are not around?  Where will the dog sleep?  What will make the dog feel safe?  One suggestion would be a dog crate.  Now you ask yourself, what size crate would be best for my dog?  Below is a link that will help you make those tough crate decisions much easier.
