Generally speaking, many who have considered getting a new dog, young or old consider getting the dog in the Springtime.  Springtime is generally a more pleasant time in New England, to have to house break a new puppy or begin a new walking routine with your new four legged pooch.  The snow is melting, temperatures are warmer, and you are ready to be outside again.  Getting into the routine of having a new dog in your life can take a bit of adjustment for you and your dog.
